Job Group Monitor Overview

You access the Job Group Monitor right-clicking on a Job Group task and selecting Open Monitor. This topic describes the elements and commands you need to work with it.

Viewing the List of Jobs in the Job Group Monitor

Tasks contained in a Job Group object are listed on the Monitor sorted by RunID.

The columns on this table provide the following information:

• Name

  Name of the job.

• Type

  C_HOSTG indicates that this job is being process as part of a Job Group and that the Job Group is active.

• RunID

  Unique identifier assigned to the task upon execution.

• Status

  Status of this particular job.

  If the Job Group is already active but the job cannot be processed yet due to the Max. Parallel Tasks settings, its status is Registered.

• User

  User who created the job. If ownership has been transferred, user who is currently in charge of this job. See Taking Over the Ownership of a Task.

• Start Time

  Either the time at which a job has started or its estimated start time (if still in Registered status).

  During the execution of a Group, the monitor is dynamic; it refreshes every 60 seconds to provide the latest information on the status of its jobs.

• Priority

  An Automation Engine system consists of the system client 0000 and up to 9999 user-defined clients.

  The Automation Engine processes all messages sent by those clients, with the client priority determining the order in which they are processed. Clients of a higher priority are always given priority to clients of a lower priority, regardless of the order in which the messages were originally sent. The First-In-First-Out principle applies when there are two clients with the same priority. The message arriving first is processed first.

  • Highest priority: 200
  • Lowest priority: 255

Using the Job Group Monitor Toolbar

The toolbar provides shortcuts for all the functions available for the Job Group and its tasks:

Modifying the Job Group

Expand the Modify Group button on the toolbar to display the functions that are available for the Job Group. Which ones are displayed depend on its status.

Working with the Jobs in the Group

Select a job in the Group and right-click to open a context menu displaying all the functions available for that job.

Which options are available depends on the job status. For example:

Viewing the Details of a Job in the Group

Select a job and click on the toolbar to open a pane on the right hand side of the page displaying all the details on the job.

The information is provided in collapsible sections that vary depending on the type of task you have selected.

Click the Modify button on the toolbar to toggle on the edit mode and be able to edit the task properties.
